The IELTS is the world's most popular English language test for higher education and global migration. It uses a nine-band scale to clearly identify levels of proficiency, from non-user (band score 1) through to expert (band score 9).
The exam is made up of four papers developed to test your English language skills:
1. Listening -Approximately 30 minutes (plus 10 minutes’ transfer time)
2. Reading- 60 minutes (no extra transfer time)
3. Writing - 60 minutes
4. Speaking - 11-14 minutes
The IELTS is designed to assess English language skills across a wide range of levels. There is no such thing as a pass or fail in IELTS. Results are reported as band scores on a scale from 1 (the lowest) to 9 (the highest).
